Inscribed "LONGFELLOW'S HOME PORTLAND, ME." in the bowl in red enamel. Made by Watson Co. c.1900.

American sterling silver hand made child's or baby cup by George Christian Gebelein of Boston, c.1920.

This special colonial revival style cup has a ribbed strap handle on a tapered body with a flared lip and an applied flared base. The body has a period monogram: PBS II and the base is monogrammed twice: to C. H. J January 1, 192 and PBS to PBS II June 9, 1924.

Weighing 188 grams, this attractive cup is 3 1/8" in diameter, 3" tall and 4 3/8" across the handle.

Gebelein was one of the most important silversmiths of his era.
