American sterling silver Pap spoon with a gilt bowl in the Versailles pattern by Gorham Silversmiths, introduced in 1888. This spoon was made about 1925 and has a period script monogram on the back of the handle: ESD.
Pap spoons are usually the size of teaspoons with a large bowl and were used to feed infants.
Weighing 40 grams, this scarce and desirable spoon is 6 1/4" long.
Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
