The device of three crowns, staff, rose and thistle encircled with the motto, 'TRIA IUNCTA IN UNO'('three joined in one') refers to the united kingdoms of England, Scotland and Ireland. The Order was established on its present basis in 1725. Inscribed 4:14" on the bottom of the shank. C.1780 .
