American sterling silver (coin silver period) pie knife or pastry server in a Gothic engraved pattern by William Gale and Son of New York City, c.1860. This wonderfully ornate large server has a shaped, engraved twist handle and a shaped, pointed end Gothic engraved blade. The front of the handle is monogrammed, in ornate period script: ACB. Weighing 85 grams or 2.7 ozs. Troy, this special server is 10 7/8" long. Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
